Gregory Rodriguez Swim & Dive Head Coach

Hello! I am one of your head coaches and most swimmers and students call me Coach Rod or Mr. Rod. I have been coaching swimming and water polo since I was 18 years old. For the first half of my swimming career I coached recreational swimming at Blackhawk Country Club (HOX) and at Monte Vista High School (Mustangs). Now I coach recreational swimming at Diablo Country Club (Sharks) and have had the privilege of coaching at Dublin High School (Go Gales!!!). As for water polo I have coached various clinics at both Blackhawk and Diablo Country Clubs and have coached high school water polo at Monte Vista. Water polo has always been extremely enjoyable as that was most of my aquatics focus throughout high school and college. It is my hope to bring my passion for water polo to Dublin High in the coming years.

At each place I have coached I have learned that before we could grow as athletes we must grow as a community. It is extremely important that each swimmer develops both as a person and as an athlete.

Success is peace of mind which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best you are capable of becoming.”

Eric Holzheimer Dive Head Coach

Eric founded California Diving Academy in late Spring of 2013. Eric has and continues to coach a growing number of high school diving teams. Those past/present schools include: Acalanes, Alameda, California (CalHigh), Campolindo, Carondelet, Clayton Valley, College Park, De La Salle, Dougherty Valley, Dublin, Encinal, Las Lomas, Miramonte, Monte Vista, Napa High, and Vintage High. For high schools, CDA has developed more than a dozen North Coast Section (NCS) Championship winners and a top-10 finisher who competed in the San Joaquin Section (SJS) Championship. Those same NCS top-4's (boys and girls both) have continued to successfully competed in the California State Diving Championships (CIF) every year. The California Diving Academy (CDA) strives to help and develop those athletes who want to dive in college or wishing to compete at the highest levels. For our Age Group and Junior Olympic Divers (JO's) CDA has more than 100 divers that have competed in and won hundreds of medals in local club meets and travelling (Regional, Zone, and National) events. CDA has also successfully launched almost a dozen (D1, D2, D3 and NAIA) college divers from our JO program in the short time CDA has been a club.

If you have questions, his email address is eric@caldiving.org. Because a large number of schools are involved, please include your name, school, and your name/your divers name in the message. Across 9 high schools Coach Eric manages approximately 70 divers.
